Union-Level Dialogue Meeting on Gender Justice and Inclusion Locations: 📍 Batiaghata Sadar & Jalma Union, Batiaghata Upazila Union-Level Dialogue Meetings in Batiaghata and Dumuria: Advancing Gender Justice and Inclusion The Nice Foundation successfully organized Union-Level Dialogue Meetings in Batiaghata Sadar and Jalma Union of Batiaghata Upazila, as well as Raghunathpur of Dumuria Upazila, with active participation from diverse community stakeholders. These dialogues served as crucial platforms to engage local voices in discussions around gender equality, social norms, and inclusive development.
The primary objectives of these meetings were to:
🌸 Raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) and its impact on individuals and communities,
🌸 Create safe spaces for open conversations around gender norms and the socially constructed roles of women and men,
🌸 Promote women’s participation in decision-making at the household and community levels,
🌸 And explore practical ways to ensure social inclusion for all—including women, men, transgender persons, and persons with disabilities.
Participants included women leaders, youth representatives, religious and social influencers, local officials, and community members, who actively contributed their perspectives and experiences. These vibrant discussions encouraged reflection, built solidarity, and sparked ideas for local action to challenge discrimination and exclusion.
Nice Foundation believes that such community-centered dialogues are essential to building awareness, shifting harmful norms, and promoting equity. Through these engagements, we are moving closer to a future where all individuals, regardless of gender or identity, can live with dignity, voice, and equal opportunity.
